Here's another piece I painted for a bulletin, this time for a sermon on Romans 12:12 (part of a sermon series titled Life at Its Best). The passage reads "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer." (For a little more context, the sermon was titled "Triple Play.")

A Little Cover Work
Here's an image I made that was used on the cover of a recent bulletin at the church to which I belong. It was meant to tie in with that Sunday's sermon on Romans 12:11 ("Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor).

Fragments
Here, I'm cheating again, only this time it's the sort of cheating that reveals a fragment of a larger piece. The painting in question is a comparatively small part of a collaborative project between my brother and I. Once his work is finished and ready to be loosed into the ether of the internets, I'll show the entirety of this painting.
Since we're on the subject of fragments, here are two details from the painting shown in the previous post. Both areas provided their own challenges, but I'll bet some of you can tell which portion I found more challenging (or, rather, which area I approached with less confidence). Painting probably wouldn't be so fun or satisfying if it were devoid of challenges or if it did not demand hard work.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Whispers
Brace yourselves, folks. This post is a long one...
In all seriousness, I often find it very difficult to send these pieces off into the ether without a rucksack full of self-criticism. I'll resist the urge here and let you view it without my mutterings and grumblings to distract you from making your own judgments.
