Making some slow progress on the print I mentioned in the last post. The previous sketches all explored just one figure, but I wondered what might happen if I incorporate another. Initially, the first sketches suggest introspection, maybe even loneliness. In my mind, the second figure pushes the idea towards needs and flaws. Nothing new, perhaps, but I'll keep pursuing the idea.
That said, I seem to be tripping over ideas and finding kernels of meaning rather than making them--not just with this piece, but with a lot of the stuff I've made in the past. And it set me wondering... Perhaps this is a topic for a future post?
In complete disregard for transitions and segues: here's something else I've been working on. This is a piece of bristol, and upon it lie graphite marks disguised as a man and a llama. The latter piece of trivia is obvious, I think, despite Mr. Llama's stubby legs. The former morsel of information, on the other hand, may not have been quite as apparent.
Perhaps it is not a wise confession to make, but my relationship with watercolors is tenuous at best. Ignoring this, I'll use said medium to finish up this illustration of man and llama. Perhaps I shall learn something along the way.
For the odd individual who happens upon this blog and is interested enough to read it, please bear with me as I work to master the secrets of Blogger. This blog will eventually congeal into something a little more solid and stable, I hope. In the mean time, any feedback you are willing to give is welcome. Perhaps there are topics you would like me to linger on? Or, perhaps I could be more succinct? Maybe you only care about the pictures? Regardless, thanks for looking and reading.
